But really, they got all the global wealth and it made them rich. They thought they were rich because they were intrinsically great but really they were just propping themselves up. They thought they could brexit and retain their greatness but the EU wasn’t stifling them it was masking their decline.

I have one dream for Linux. I’m a huge OSS fan and I want to see it thrive.
I think Microsoft should partner with Oracle to make Oracle Linux 9 support all the Microsoft ecosystem. I want AD in Linux. I want Microsoft Word on Linux. Oracle Linux 9 is the obvious successor to RHEL and Microsoft has an opportunity here to build something great.

Windows OS is one of the biggest misses in the company’s history. The money lost on Zune pales in comparison to the missed opportunities of making NT the go-to dev platform.
People like Mac OS better. The most popular user OS in the world is Android. Cloud is Linux. Microsoft knows they have to play nice because they are so far behind there’s no point in competing how they used to.
Well the point to my comment wasn’t how smart I may be, it was that I feel like those topics are pretty standard things. If you watch or follow the news you’ll pick it up pretty quickly.

I chatted with my hairdresser yesterday. She didn’t know:

For Halloween my girlfriend and I are going as SBF and Elizabeth Holmes. She commented that “no one outside [my] little circle is going to know who those people are.” I started to disagree but, in a way, she’s right.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s wonderful and hilarious and chill af. She’s just a bit dumb. And that’s okay but it’s true.
Do you think Microsoft removed features from their language because they hate Linux? Or do you think maybe the way syscalls and the filesystem work are different in Linux and that makes hot reload a bit of an engineering problem?
We can never know, but I’m guessing Microsoft didn’t port their language to Linux just to shoot themselves in the foot. On the other hand, it is Microsoft.

I looked at the code but the “single file version” is 10377 lines of Batch. They want me to do the power shell equivalent of
curl abc.com | bash. The official website looks legit but I have no idea if this is safe or how they’re doing it.
When I was 8 I was making a “video game” (a complete bundle of code trash 😉) and I would copy people’s code and everything would melt down. I would spend hours debugging just to realize I needed to pass an extra argument or indent or something.
Today I’m better at my job. I am now the one writing confusing function APIs 😈
