zloubida@sh.itjust.worksto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why are most religious people so easy to manipulate? (serious)25·3 days ago3.5% of the world population is Evangelical, it’s around 1% in my country. It’s less than the number of atheists (7% globally, 63% in my country). So no, absolutely not representative. Your answer is very US-centered.
And in my country were atheism is very spread, I see a lot a manipulated people. Religious people aren’t more easily manipulated than others, it’s just that religious easily manipulated people are attracted by Evangelicalism.

The transgressions are named in Amos 2:4-12; it’s the slavery, the way they treat the poor, the greed, and the incorporation of polytheistic practices like sacred prostitution.

Take away from me the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

I first read “a zombie princess” and I like this idea more.

Abrahemic religions are mental illness and a plague against progressEnglish41·1 month agoBecause if you did, you’d learn that Muslims are normal people. Some are assholes, some are not. Some are straight and homophobic, others are proudly queer. You could argue that Islam is bad because it encourages homophobia, that’s an acceptable opinion. But saying that all Muslims are homophobic is bigoted and just plain wrong. The difference between legitimate criticism and hate is not hard to understand… unless one wants to blur the line, probably to hide one’s hatred.
zloubida@sh.itjust.worksto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•This guy. Abrahemic religions are mental illness and a plague against progressEnglish41·1 month agoA lot of Islamophobs are atheists too, you know.

But considering every Muslim as a violent, hating, misogynistic, homophobic, racist and sexist person is bigotry.

I’d love to have something like that (with a new battery); I’d install a headless Debian and live in the TTYs. Just like a numeric typewriter.
