As one who used to be Republican and am a real conservative… It was basically what I expected. Actually I thought they let Zelensky talk more than I thought they would.

I feel about it probably similar to you. With the added shame of the fact that my tribe has betrayed its own values and is a laughing stock of the world.

To your second point, I think you’re somewhat right about that. However it’s a weird mix of traditional Republican values and this new Nationalism. Republicans were traditionally for a small federal government (except military of course)

I don’t get the whole MIT vs GPL rivalry. They both have their uses. If you want to use GPL, go for it. And if you want something like MIT that works too.

Thankfully both exist because I think we definitely need both.

The ease of student loans would not exist without government backing. In a pure capitalism, this wouldn’t be a problem.

Sin certainly has religious elements yes. But every wrong doing is sin. And the big ones are in the ten commandments, which include things like stealing, murder, and cheating on your spouse.

Sin is most commonly defined as “wrong doing”. If you think murder is bigotry, I’m not sure what to tell you.
