  • Thanks for the response!

You are right that the Steam Deck is hard to beat due to availability of games, platform and emulation (though considering the instance I’m in, I’ll acquire games a different way).

I’m uncertain due to the fact there’s a lot of uncertainty about the emulation of the Switch 2 games.

Tried getting the original switch but, I’m a sucker for OLED screen (if I can afford it, I want it hah).

  • Saving this post to read in the evening! (Working atm). Do you do this every week/ month?

I wonder whether it’s worth to get the Steam Deck (PC games + Emulation). However also debating about the Switch 1 (or 2). Just don’t know how to do the mod-chip (and if it will be available on the 2).

  • I actually had this issue months ago, I kept seeing everything on Instagram regarding a particular major problem. Seeing the deaths of innocents and the governments cheering it on just made me angry, moody, anxious and an immense hate towards humanity in general.

I was also jobless in these months (glad got work now) and that made it worse.

    Eventually I heavily restricted myself;

    • Only 30 mins of scroll in Instagram, checking the news and such.
    • No talks about politics for at least a month.
    • Read more books to dive in.
    • Play fun games (Mario Wonder, Captain Toad Tracker, Mario kart and Catherine Full Body).

Got a job now but I still keep most of the things I restricted myself. Despite everything, I’m in a much better mindset than before.

  • I, unfortunately, have to agree and that’s why - most of the times, I just check Lemmy posts through RSS-Feed.

I sometimes hop onto Voyager and comment on posts/ articles. But the more hostile, twisting of words and such are happening. The less I will be using Voyager to comment and just use the RSS-Feed to see the posts.

I really liked Lemmy in the early days when people went from Reddit to Lemmy. Miss those times.

  • Lemmy has a bit more active users which is great. However, I have also noticed that Lemmy has gotten similar things as Reddit these days. Different opinions are not welcome, quick/ angry comments (politic community though)

However, Lemmy now has a decent app(s) such as Voyager. I also love that Lemmy does not restrict/ block users from using swear words (at least the instance I’m on does not).

Though in all honesty, I mostly use an RSS-feed such as Reeder and InoReader.

  • I’m satisfied and proud of myself (sounds ego-ish but hear me out). When I was a kid, I was in a school for children that could (or would) not learn. All you learnt was basics of life and at 18 you just work without a degree.

I worked my way up in education from lower education to now having a bachelor degree in Finance (the exact degree everyone told me, I would never be able to get).

I’m currently taking a bit off, trying to find work and might go for master degree or something else in my country that’s equivalent to the CPA of US.

I often silently say Fuck You to the family members who always told me “you can’t do it”, “just give up” and that shit.
