Well it saves the hassle of having to unplug the monitors, speakers etc, and it’s accessible from anywhere I go. The i7 laptop is used more as a desktop.
I’m not saying others should - the point was that using a crappy computer is practical if it’s not having to do the heavy lifting.
Nothing fancy at my end. Just Rustdesk to my i7 laptop from other rooms in the house using Debian as the client. Works pretty well even from away, so I only have to maintain one ‘good’ computer.
Should be ok to remote into a more powerful machine. That’s what I do with my oldies. That way the heavy lifting is handled elsewhere.
Hehe. In my original Moto 360, I would be lucky to make it through one day with Facer running. Was good fun though.

Debian.
With x11 gnome it can run the Rustdesk client and pass all the keys properly to the Windows host. And it doesn’t boot to a black screen like many other distros on my Asus laptop.
Was on Fedora with similar results but it started taking ages to boot looking for a non existent tpm chip.
Not sure of your model. Have a look at the power button. If it’s not part of the keyboard, check how it connects to the mainboard. It might be a small flex cable that slides under or into a socket on the board, and might have come out.
Bring a battery powered fan.

Managed to not do my homework for a few months. Whatever check sheet the teacher used must have had my name in such a way she didn’t notice the empty row, until the day she did. ‘and the week before that, and the week before that’ getting progressively louder.

Didn’t think then that the situation could reverse.
Same still exists on Android and is still a brain twister.
