Ok let’s do a classic here. What pedals do you most regret getting rid of or selling and why?

For me:

  • Catalinbread Echorec. I love multi tap delays and while I was able to get close to emulating this on my DD-500 it’s just not the same. The way the delays blend into each other and create this wash of reverb is sublime. Probably going to buy it again soon.
  • Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion. It wasn’t that different from my DS-1 but damn I wish I still had it. Whenever I play my DS-1 now it’s just too harsh.
  • Baron Von JM

As a high school bozo I took a terrible trade-in value for a Zoom 9000 back in like '93 or '94. I think I got an Ibanez Sound Tank Tube Screamer. Looking at these listings it seems the market values are pretty close, but I had actually gigged with the Zoom and it was fine, and to lose so many other effects I didn’t otherwise have at the time (and it had headphone out so I could practice late) was foolish.

Do you stack the DS-1? After watching the TPS episode on it I started setting my amp on the dirty channel, even just at edge of breakup, and that really did make a difference.
