title really… got a few games where this oldschool TV error shows instead of the actual main screen, the same happens with Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. It’s a super weird thing, as before this appears the actual loading screen is present, but this error-image just decides to slowly fade in…?

Have you tried changing channel? Some consoles are on ch3 and some are on ch4

And make sure the channel on the TV is set to the the same one as the RF adapter.

Missing codecs, try running with Proton-GE

Seconding this advice. Install ProtonUp-Qt, run it and add the latest Proton-GE version. Restart Steam and change game compatibilty settings to use use Proton-GE.

Jup, this is it. Valve’s Proton doesn’t include some of the more exotic proprietary codecs like Bink and the likes.

I’ve noticed this with Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader too. And with dragons dogma like you have, thought it was just a me problem… Good to know!

I’ve observed this in VRising too. It’s been nearly consistent since I upgraded to a better graphics card.

Proton-GE fixed it as pointed out in the comments!
